Dr Abitew completed his PhD at Flinders University in February 2016. His research interest is to examine the effect of diet on chronic disease risk and how diet combines with other lifestyle factors, particularly sleep, to influence chronic disease and mortality outcomes. He has extensive experience analysing large-scale cohort data, conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and publishing in high-impact journals. He is committed to translating dietary evidence into chronic disease prevention and public health policy.
