Research Biography

Dr. Zhongfan Jia received his Ph.D. degree in polymer chemistry and physics from Fudan University, China, in 2007. He then took a postdoc position in the Centre for Advanced Macromolecular Design (CAMD) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and worked with Prof. Tom Davis, where he developed RAFT-generated polymers for bioconjugation and biomedical applications. In 2009, he was awarded the UQ Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and moved to the University of Queensland, where he has been continuously collaborating with Prof. Michael Monteiro in the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN). In 2013, Zhongfan was awarded an ARC Future Fellow (2014-2017) and appointed as an Associate Group Leader in AIBN. In 2017, he was awarded an Advanced Queensland Industry Fellow (2018-2020). Before joining in Flinders University, Zhongfan was a Lecturer in Chemistry at the University of New England (2019).
