This scholarship was awarded through the Open Door Initiative at Flinders University to support doctoral research within the ARC Discovery Project, 'Veteran suicide: investigating the historical and social dimensions' (DP230101689).
My PhD research contributes to this national study by critically examining the Australian veterans' non-profit sector and its role in supporting the reintegration of military veterans and their families. Under the supervision of Professor Ben Wadham, this work investigates the governance structures, service provision, and cultural competence of the sector. The study aims to identify the systemic and cultural drivers of veteran suicidality from 1914 to the present, providing an evidence base to inform future policy for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
