The research examines the role of Indonesian 'Tourism Villages' in advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through culturally rooted, environmentally conscious, and community-driven tourism practices, based on extensive fieldwork across nine villages, revealing both meaningful contributions and complex challenges, and offering insights relevant to rural development globally.
