There are only twelve awards given across the university each year and they are highly competitive and prestigious.
This award will focus on the quality of the thesis produced. The selection committee will consider the examiners results and recommendations, and other recognition showing the quality of the research conducted, such as publications stemming from the thesis.
To be eligible for nomination for the award a student will normally have received recommendations from two external examiners that the degree should be awarded without amendments to the thesis (A, A). Students passed with minor amendments (A,B) may also be considered.
