Project Details
Description
There are two aims: (i) to develop and evaluate the Big Talks for Little People: Child Mental health module for use in Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) centres in primary schools. The program includes all students especially those whom have experienced trauma or challenges within their own mental health and wellbeing including school bullying and (ii) to assess OSHC staff knowledge and understanding of children’s mental health and their skills in supporting children with mental health needs.
The focus would be on early intervention and prevention for all children in each OSHC class. The module would be designed to include a ‘’stand alone’’ professional development animation given the probable casualisation of the work force who are delivering the OSHC program to the students.
