Description
This co-developed toolkit for disability employment is a significant outcome of participatory action research conducted through the Diversity Pathways initiative. This initiative focused on co-designing disability employment strategies with employers and various stakeholders in the disability employment sector, including individuals with cognitive disabilities, disability employment policy advisors, and industry partners.
The toolkit is an online, self-paced learning resource available at https://www.diversitypathways.solutions/disability-employment-action-toolkit. It is designed for employers and managers who want to learn about disability employment initiatives. The toolkit exemplifies effective research translation into practice for employers and managers. It features videos, visuals, and key elements organized into three main parts: raising disability awareness, preparing to hire, and working together to achieve success.

Layman's description
This co-developed disability employment action toolkit is an effective outcome of the Diversity Pathways: co-designing disability employment approaches with employers, people with cognitive disability, disability employment policy advisors and industry partners. It is an online, self-paced learning resource accessible at www.diversitypathways.solutions/disability-employment-action-toolkit to guide employers and managers in learning about disability employment initiatives. This toolkit uses videos, visuals and key elements in three parts: raising disability awareness, preparing to hire, and working together to achieve success.
Key findings
Employers have willingness to develop disability employment initiatives but they often face organisational challenges in accessing appropriate resources, timing and commitment at the individual and organisational levels. This co-developed toolkit effectively guides employers to understand what to do to take disability employment action.
