Project Details
Description
This research is being undertaken as part of a larger ARC Future Fellowship project by A/Prof Ian Moffat of Flinders University, which encompasses four HDR projects over four years. The ARC grant includes funding for all field work and limited laboratory analyses (OSL, Sedimentology), but not for other key analyses such as radiocarbon, cosmogenic nuclides, or geochemistry. Other HDR projects under the umbrella of this Future Fellowship project are using additional methods to contribute to the overall goals of the project, including oxygen isotopic ratios of gypsum deposits and phytolith analyses. These proxies will provide additional context for the reconstruction of the palaeoenvironmental history of the lakes, and if possible, this data will contribute to the final thesis, but they are not strictly a component of this HDR project.
