Description
This project aims to identify natural compounds that inhibit cell wall biosynthesis and remodelling pathways in Rhizopus oryzae, a major human fungal pathogen responsible for fatal disease called mucormycosis. By targeting enzymes essential for growth and virulence, the team will discover novel antifungal candidates, paving the way for next-generation therapies to combat invasive fungal infections and address rising antifungal resistance.
