Project Details
Description
An industry PhD will be undertaken by a Flinders University PhD candidate in partnership with St Peter's College. St Peter's will provide research, facilities, and practical oversight to the successful candidate to further develop the field of research related to adolescent exercise and its benefits. To achieve this outcome, St Peter’s is committed to co-investing in an industry PhD at St Peter's college, with Flinders University providing primary supervision and research support services to the student. Both organisations will contribute to 50% of the total cost ($99,000) across a 3 year funding period ($49,500 contribution each from Flinders University and St Peter College across 3 years). Student will be required to be embedded in St Peters for at least 60 days of the PhD candidature, with additional practical commitments expected post completion of the industry internship to complete practical research tasks and professional development opportunities. The Industry supervisor (Dr Ben Haines) will work in unison with the primary supervisor from Flinders University (Dr Kym Williams) to ensure the student has a successful, timely completion. Additional research support, supervision and specialised owned equipment access will be provided by Flinders University. The successful candidate for the Industry phD will be selected based on the competitive application process.
