Evaluating the use of care services on post-stroke health outcomes in older adults living in regional, rural and remote areas

After a stroke, older adults need ongoing care to support long-term recovery, such as GP visits, aged care and allied health. Our previous research using a large national dataset found that older people in regional, rural and remote areas access many of these services less than those in cities. We aim to examine the impact of using different care services on important health outcomes in older people living in these areas after a stroke. This research
will help identify which services make the biggest difference to older stroke survivors, guiding better support and resources in regional, rural and remote communities.
