Evaluation of groups for adolescents with severe emotion regulation difficulties: Phase 2.

Project Details

Description

Phase 1
Southern Youth Mental Health Service (SYMHS) was funded by Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation to evaluate groups offering (1) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) targeting self-harm - 10 weekly sessions, (2) Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for adolescents with severe emotion regulation difficulties including BPD and their parents/caregivers (25 weekly sessions).

The funding has employed 0.2 FTE postdoc support from Flinders University to support the evaluation.

Phase 2
Funding has been extended for 12 months, with a greater N of participants expected now that COVID has proved less disruptive and telehealth protocols have been put in place to enable people to join the groups when they are unwell.
