Exhibition entitled: Criminalised young people and the worlds we create for them: 'We are not where this problem starts"

Project Details

Description

Funds would support me to hire the Mill (art gallery) for an exhibition communicating my PhD findings to a broader audience. Exhibition is predominantly funded by the Catherine Helen Spence memorial scholarship - but I require extra funds to pay for venue hire. The exhibition is produced in collaboration with criminalised young people, a number of whom reside or sleep rough in the Adelaide CBD. Through this exhibition, I will run a number of free/public events that celebrate the strengths, knowledge and wisdom of the young people I work with - many of whom are First Nations, have experienced homelessness and have important stories to share. This exhibition aims to bring people from diverse backgrounds together to connect, exchange ideas, learn and challenge stereotypes.
