Project Details

Description

Australia’s history of nuclear science is of growing interest to scholars, however the physical remains of this enterprise are yet to be investigated. This partnership between the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, and leading academics, curators, scientists and First Nations researchers will, for the first time, document, analyse and interpret Australia’s atomic heritage. Using archaeological and digital humanities approaches, this research will enable new understandings of the heritage held by the partner organisations in its national and global context, and provide substantial benefits to Australia's tourism, museums and heritage management sectors.
