SA SafeRoads Families: An Immersive Learning Project

Project Details

Description

Parental engagement plays a vital role in children’s road safety education through supervision, instruction, and behaviour modelling (Moyne, 2018). However, most initiatives target children alone. This project addresses that gap by developing immersive, gamified learning experiences using Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Artificial Intelligence. These experiences, designed for informal learning environments, aim to improve children’s road safety knowledge while empowering parents as co-educators. They will be promoted and distributed through public libraries, local council holiday activations, Flinders University outreach programs, community groups, and major events to maximise community reach and engagement.
