Project Details
Description
This project aims to develop a brief screening tool (5-items; 3-pt response), for use in community, primary, or paediatric health settings. The tool will have a parent- and child-report version and be validated for predicting risk of EDs in children aged 5-12. It will be designed to:
• Use clear, non-stigmatising, culturally-safe language
• Assess risk for a range of EDs in children (AN, BN, BED, ARFID, OSFED)
• Tap early warning signs widely reported in research and by those with lived-experience and their parents
• Be used alongside universal paediatric screening measures
• Have easy scoring methods, clear cut-points, and be freely available for use
• Provide a tool, which through widespread implementation in services and research, will foster future innovation.
