Project Details
Description
When women go through menopause, falling oestrogen levels can weaken bones. Some gut bacteria help recycle oestrogen and keep its levels steady in the body. By boosting these helpful bacteria, it may be possible to slow down bone loss. Using a mouse model of menopause, our study will explore how changing the gut microbiome could improve bone health for women during this stage of life.
