Project Details

Description

Addressing Stream 2 Topic E, this project will assess the potential and feasibility of a novel co-designed, whole-of-school community approach to prevent, assess, and treat childhood trauma. Applying principles of trauma-informed practice, we will co-design a “Trauma Aware School Village” model with students, parents, educators, and schools, to equip them with increased emotional regulation and connectedness; deliver strategies to safely identify, respond to trauma and enact early intervention; and drive best practice and organisational change. Developed in partnership with consumers, schools, community, and service providers; this project will inform a national framework for the effective design and implementation of trauma-informed programs in Australian schools, that meaningfully improve children’s mental health and wellbeing.
