As part of my Honours degree, I conducted a proof-of-concept randomised controlled trial to test whether a home-based resistance training program could reduce pre-frailty in community-dwelling adults aged 40–65. This was my first independent research project and involved a scoping review, designing an intervention, recruiting participants, engaging with participants throughout, and analysing outcomes. The study contributed to my first peer-reviewed publication and was later presented at the ASMR National Scientific Conference. I was awarded a Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation in recognition of my academic performance during this project.
