Description
Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness. For patients unresponsive to topical treatment, surgery to lower eye pressure is the only option, yet it often fails due to scarring, leading to vision loss and repeat surgeries. This study examines gene regulation in wound healing to uncover the molecular changes in eye tissue after surgery. This may identify predictive indicators of surgical outcomes, which can guide safer surgery and could lead to newly developed precision treatments.
