Description
This project aims to examine the opportunities that young people with disability and young carers (aged 12-24) access, and contributions they make to Australian society. It involves young people with disability and young carers as co-researchers and is guided by a Policy Advisory Group. Using novel conceptual framing, in-depth qualitative research and analysis of large-scale survey data, the project expects to provide new knowledge on now policy can support access to valued opportunities and contributions to family, community and society for young people with disability and young carers. Benefits include longer-term economic gains, improved social cohesion and a strengths-based approach to disability and care.
