Abstract

South Australia has had a long, if not consistent, history of being at the forefront of democratic reform. The Malinauskas Labor government has continued this tradition by proposing to ban all political donations to registered political parties in the state. While concerns of economic power shifting political results persist, there are also many potential risks and consequences to such extraordinary reform.
