Abstract

This study is the response to the call for more survey research exploring the external and internal factors that can address the e-cheating behaviour of students, especially, in accounting and business students’ e-cheating behaviour. Based on different cognitive moral stages of Kohlberg’s Cognitive Moral Development (CMD) theory, this study examines if the implementation of monitoring systems, teacher cooperation and support, moral reminder, perceived fear and self-efficacy could directly or indirectly reduce the accounting and other business students’ e-cheating behaviour in an online assessment context.
