A global review of bladder cancer mortality in the elderly

Abstract

Introduction and objectives  Bladder cancer has a mean age of diagnosis of 73 years. The elderly have fewer curative treatment options for muscle invasive bladder cancer as cystectomy patients is associated with higher morbidity in patients older than 75. We reviewed global bladder cancer mortality and assessed rates of mortality change in both sexes by age group, country and development levels.
