Abstract

Brown anoles (Anolis sagrei, also classified as Norops sagrei) were collected from an area surrounding a plant nursery (23°25′51″N, 120°28′30″E) in Santzepu, Sheishan District, Chiayi County. To our knowledge, this is the 1st record of this species in Taiwan. Since Taiwan is far from where A. sagrei naturally occurs, we suspect that it was introduced through anthropogenic means.
