A Simple Technique Enhancing Spectral Performance for Planar Dipole Antennas

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

A planar dipole antenna is loaded with two quasiquarter-wavelength thin stubs to enhance bandwidth and filtering performance without significantly increasing design complexity and size. The proposed structure can achieve 24.7% fractional bandwidth, which is 47.9% greater than the reference dipole, without enlarging its footprint. The out-of-band gain suppression levels at the lower and upper bands are also improved.
