Abstract

Vancomycin is the antibiotic of choice for the treatment of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection. Inappropriate prescribing vancomycin is associated with therapeutic failure, antibiotic resistance and drug toxicity. Educating prescribers on vancomycin prescribing and monitoring has been suggested as a tool to limit these issues.
