A versatile fiber Bragg grating based transducer for dynamic measurement of force and temperature

Abstract

A transducer based on two fiber Bragg gratings in a double helix format is presented. Sideways deformation of the helical structure allows simultaneous, dynamic, measurement of the deforming force and the ambient temperature.
