Abstract

The Lifestyle Medicine approach may be considered a suitable entry level community intervention to prevent and manage psychiatric disorders [1]. Elements of interest include dietary interventions, physical activity, and other non-pharmacological practices such as mindfulness and mind-body interventions. Importantly, there is increasing evidence for the effectiveness of these elements in improving the outcomes of psychiatric care, and there are increasing efforts to deliver these elements as treatment options in acute psychiatric units.
