Abstract

It is now ten years since John Dargavel edited a special Australia issue for Environment and History (Volume 4, Number 2, 1998). This issue, Australia Revisited, gives us an opportunity to consider the developments in environmental history over the past decade, and to reflect on how Australian environmental historiography sits in relation to that of the rest of the world. Environment and History has since published a special issue featuring New Zealand (Volume9, Number 4, 2003) edited by Tom Brooking and Eric Pawson, and in the Tenth Anniversary Issue, Libby Robin and Tom Griffiths jointly reviewed ʻEnvironmental History in Australasiaʼ, considering Australia and New Zealand together.
