Building the capabilities of school communities to improve their wellbeing: Report 1. An Australian Research Council Linkage Grant Project

    Research output: Book/ReportCommissioned reportpeer-review

    Abstract

The following pages provide summaries of projects carried out over three years. In addition to
considering the details of those different projects it is important to consider some of the
    common themes that emerged.
This was a research program that was, to a considerable extent, stimulated by the school
partners. It is important to recognise that such research can be carried out and can provide
benefit to schools and to the system. We encourage DECS to do more such research.
Schools are complex communities and the wellbeing of the members of those communities
are intertwined. As indicated in the report, these links extend beyond the school into the
community. Some of the other interwining threads are discussed in the sections of this report.
