Abstract

Recent prompts to consider a rethink of resilience in nursing practice and education (Moroney and Strickland, 2021) serve as a timely cue to reflect more broadly on the nursing curricula developed for pre-registration nursing education. Specifically, in light of an increasingly challenging health care landscape, there is an opportunity to reimagine the approaches adopted by higher education providers to prepare graduates for the complex realities of contemporary nursing practice. We extend that discourse here, in the context of rethinking nursing education to better promote self-care and resilience for more sustainable practice capability.
