Abstract
This project evaluated the costs and benefits of a novel facility – the Care Hotel – in supporting older South Australians to remain living independently and confidently in their own homes, by providing them with an alternative respite accommodation option.
The costs and benefits of providing respite accommodation through the Care Hotel were estimated with a view to informing the potential expansion of the Care Hotel concept by ECH (from a 16-bed proof-ofconcept to a 50-bed facility), as well as providing evidence to inform the broader implementation of similar facilities across Australia.
