    Abstract

This final paper in a six‐part series provides an overview of the work of the South East Thames Regional Health Authority's Special Development Team and gives the results of an informal initial assessment of the Team's effectiveness. It would seem that the quality of life of many of the service users involved has been improved but that continued effort is necessary to maintain or extend this. It is likely that the Team has also had some influence on general service development. It is to continue for a further five years. 1989 Blackwell Publishing Ltd
