Abstract

Flindercarpin-2, C32H40O13, isolated from the bark of Flindersia laevicarpa C.T. White & Francis (Rutaceae) was shown by spectroscopic and crystallographic studies to be a pentanortriterpenoid, methyl (S)-(acetoxy)([3′S-(3α, 3aα, 4α, 5β, 6α, 6aα, 7α, 10aα, 11aα)]-5′, 6′-diacetoxy-7'-(furan-3″-yl)-2′, 2′- 3a′, 6a′, 11a′-pentamethyI-12'-methylene-9′-oxo-2′, 3′, 3a′, 4′, 5′, 6′, 6a′, 9′, 10′, 11a′-decahydro-7′H-4′, 10a′- methano-10a′H-furo[2, 3-b]pyrano[3, 4-g]oxocin-3′-yl)acetate (2).
