Abstract
Education and further training support economic growth and productivity, with skilled workers better resourced to access opportunities, which can lead to greater control over aspects of their lives such as income and job security. Conversely, those with low levels of education are at risk of unemployment and social exclusion. Societies that tend to be less equal in terms of access to education and learning outcomes also tend to be less equal in terms of income distribution.
