City of Playford: Socio-demographic, employment and education profile

    Abstract

    The City of Playford is located on the Northern-most fringes of metropolitan Adelaide and is the second largest of South Australia's 19 metropolitan councils. This report provides a comprehensive overview of key economic and social indicators for the City of Playford to inform policy and planning. It presents a detailed analysis of approximately 80,000 City of Playford residents at the last Census (August 2011), providing a baseline for understanding and planning for the local population. The report covers the following major aspects: (1) City of Playford profile (demographic characteristics; population movement, growth and projections; cultural diversity; families and households; socioeconomic disadvantage; community strength; health; disability and carers); (2) living and working in the region (labour force participation and employment; income; industry of employment; working locally); and (3) education and training (education qualifications; training and apprenticeships).
