Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the impact of combined Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) plus Sport Education (SE) on the intrapersonal intelligence, metacognition, emotion regulation and psychomotor skills of school students. The study involved 72 female and male school students with an average age of 14.82 ± 1.26 years. The research was conducted in three stages: baseline, 16 sessions in 2 months TGfU plus SE through football sessions, and post intervention assessments. The results of mixed ANOVA indicated a significant increase in intrapersonal intelligence, metacognition, emotion regulation and psychomotor skills in TGfU plus SE group compared to regular physical education class group from the beginning to the end of the intervention. The findings of the present study provide evidence for the effectiveness of TGfU plus SE pedagogical model in school students. The results suggest that combined TGfU plus SE can be a valuable addition to standard interventions for reducing emotional problems in students.
