Abstract

The article A Survey of Specialist Youth Gender Diversity Services in Australia: A Whole‐of‐Family Approach takes as its centerpiece the utility of circular questioning when working with families in regards to gender diversity. The survey findings reported in the paper, although drawing on a small sample, highlight that whilst whole‐of‐family approaches were often seen as valuable by the clinicians surveyed, too often extended family members were not included in sessions with gender diverse young people. In terms of circular questioning, the survey findings suggest that some professionals used this approach, though one respondent noted that circular questioning could be challenging for young people to answer.
