Abstract
Time concepts in archaeology can be considered from the viewpoint of their influence on the thinking of archaeologists, and on the thinking and behaviour of prehistoric people, and hence on the patterns which contribute to the archaeological record. An understanding of the latter is closely related to the time structure of prehistoric peoples, namely their mental capacity to simulate events remote in time from immediate experience, and the temporal horizons incorporated in their social relationships and economic activities. -J.Sheail
