Abstract
Introduction: The provision of cancer care is becoming increasingly complex. It is imperative that the ongoing professional development needs of the oncology nursing workforce are met. In 2019, the Division of Cancer Services (DOCs) of the Princess Alexandra Hospital introduced three novel education interventions to meet the ongoing professional development needs of nursing staff. These initiatives include: (1) Professional Development at the Bedside (PDBs) initiative, (2) “Around the Kitchen Table” sessions, and (3) one-on-one mentoring from a clinical facilitator.
