Abstract

A combination of hydrogen bonding and metal coordination leads to the formation of the new solid state molecular capsule [{18-crown-6} subset of {(Y(H2O)7 3+)1.33(p-sulfonatocalix[4]arene4-)}2] at pH between 1.0 and 4.0.
