Abstract
The advanced manufacturing sector faces acute talent shortages due to a persistent skills gap and negative industryperceptions among younger workers. Traditional employer branding efforts fall short when the industry suffersa collective image problem. This extended abstract proposes a coopetition strategy—simultaneous cooperationand competition—grounded in systems and game theory, to address talent attraction and retention. By organizingstakeholders into a cooperative framework, the industry can build a collective talent brand without underminingindividual firm identities. Key questions explored include stakeholder organization, role differentiation, measurement ofcontributions, and evaluation of collective performance within the coopetitive model for sustainable talent development.
