Abstract
Recent years have seen quite a trend in revisiting the origins of copyright in order to determine if past battles provide any clues for how copyright should respond to the challenge of digital technology.1 In this new collection of essays a number of eminent copyright scholars shine the light into some dark corners of copyright history and come up with a range of observations regarding the usefulness of the lessons we can learn from history.
