Abstract

The number of corneal grafts performed across Australia each year continues to increase; in 2023, ophthalmic surgeons notified a record 1976 transplants to the Australian Corneal Graft Registry.1 Each corneal graft requires long-term follow-up by eye care professionals to ensure that corneal clarity is maintained, because complications that impair vision or result in graft failure are not uncommon.
