Abstract
This pandemic has shown that the world can change rapidly, yet the basic needs of human beings require thousands of years of evolution to change significantly. Our contact, trust and care needs will always depend on a direct relationship with another human being. For this reason, the work of front-line personnel, nursing, for example, is and will be indispensable to face this or any other threat to human health. Therefore, we need consumer-centric and knowledge-based solutions; solutions that allow us to adapt to any new circumstance taking into account our human nature. For nursing and health researchers, a key priority, after COVID-19, is to investigate the fundamentals of care in relation to communication technology, since the combination of these two factors has been the most important way to maintain human contact and the care required to save lives.
