Abstract
The exploits of the Australian submarine 'AE2' during the Gallipoli campaign are legend in Australian naval history. Far less is known about 'AE2's' captor, the Ottoman torpedo boat 'Sultanhisar'. Curator of RAN Maritime Archaeology Dr James Hunter explores 'Sultanhisar's' service history and its role in one of World War l's most famous naval engagements.
