De Rose Hill native title claim dismissed

    Abstract

    The Federal Court has recently (I November 2002) dismissed a claim of native title over De Rose Hill, a cattle station in tile far north-west of South Australia (see De Rose v State of South Australia [2002] FCA 1342). This claim was made by Mr Peter De Rose on behalf of the Yankunytjatjara people - the Nguraritja or traditional owners of the land. The application was opposed by the State of South Australia
    and the pastoralists, Mr Doug Fuller and RD Fuller Pty Ltd, the family company
    of Mr Fuller's son.
