Abstract

To the Editor:
Hypovolemia is a well-recognized phenotype in patients with postural tachycardia syndrome. Previous work has identified paradoxical low renin-aldosterone levels and red blood cell deficit as indicators of a potential renal cause for postural tachycardia syndrome. Here we present the first published report of postural tachycardia syndrome exacerbation due to partial central diabetes insipidus (pCDI)-related polyuria and hypovolemia, and successful treatment following chronic desmopressin (DDAVP) therapy.
