Abstract
In 2019, China imposed laws limiting children younger than age 18 years to 1.5 hours of online games on weekdays and 3 hours on weekends, with no gaming allowed between 10 pm and 8 am. Today, minors can play online games for only 1 hour, between 8 and 9 pm, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. To ensure adherence, companies must include name verification systems and eventually will need to connect games to a centralized antiaddiction platform.1
